SAR interferometry and statistical topography

چکیده

We introduce a parametric model for the power spectrum density of SAR interferograms. This model is derived by assuming the interferogram as a stationary frequency modulated process, and by exploiting the statistical description of earth topography provided by multi-fractal fields. Despite the small number of parameters involved (3-6 in most cases), the model have been proven robust and accurate in most of the case tested. In particular, the parametric probability distribution assumed for ground terrain slopes fitted the actual histogram (derived from existing DEMs) in a range of 3–5 decades. Applications to blind baseline estimation and phase unwrapping are then briefly discussed.

Doppler Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry: A Novel SAR Interferometry for Height Mapping using Ultra-Narrowband Waveforms

This paper introduces a new and novel radar interferometry based on Doppler synthetic aperture radar (Doppler-SAR) paradigm. Conventional SAR interferometry relies on wideband transmitted waveforms to obtain high range resolution. Topography of a surface is directly related to the range difference between two antennas configured at different positions. Doppler-SAR is a novel imaging modality th...

The Use of Polarimetric and Interferometric Sar Data in Floodplain Mapping

Recent advances in polarimetric SAR show promise for augmenting the capability of traditional interferometric SAR. In particular, a polarimetric topography technique provides useful slope information, and polarimetric interferometry may be used to decompose the response into vegetation and ground surface contributions. Here we discuss an integrated approach that utilizes the combined capability...

System Requirements and Mission Analysis for Spaceborne Sar Interferometry Based on Formation Flying Satellites

With the purpose of further development of SAR satellite technique and for Earth’s topography, SAR interferometry, with which one can get, not only images with target’s azimuth and range information, elevation information, has come into application. Among these studies, formation flying satellites proposal is one of the most effective methods. This paper presents a brief introduction of the for...
